Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As a Space and Defense Correspondent she covers all aspects of space starting from NASA to the recently formed Space Force as well as commercial space businesses and space tourism. Being the daughter of two NASA astronauts, Kristin has a background in the field of space and has worked for the past five years covering the Biden and Trump Administration's space policies as a White House Correspondent for FOX News. During that time, she was also a reporter covering impeachment proceedings for the president as well as the presidential campaign for 2020 and the efforts of two administrations in order to control the Coronavirus Pandemic. She also traveled with President Trump and Vice President Biden extensively. This included a secret trip with him to Afghanistan. Prior to joining the network in, Kristin spent nearly a decade working her way up in local TV news stations including Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she received one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Using her skills on the set, Kristin founded Field Mouse Films in 2014. The company focused on making documentary-style movies for clients of corporate nature, including Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism at Boston University. She lives in Washington, D.C., with her family, including their daughter, who is three years old.
